Formerly known as the leader of the prog-pop project Tenacity, Ula has caught our attention through her debut solo release, So Kind.

So Kind is pulsating, jazzy pop that starts stripped-back and soulful before finding a minimal groove. There’s a touch of Billie Eilish’s dark experimentation in it, and it packs an emotional punch with its lyrics. The best of ’80s and ’90s RnB meet modern pop sensibilities in a track that is laying the ground for the future. I’m very impressed.

For her new project, the Polish, London-based Ula has drawn inspiration from the likes of St. Vincent, Allie X, and Aurora, and fans of those artists will find a lot to love about her.

So Kind is the first release from her self-produced debut EP, boysulk. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
