Don’t Come Around, the latest track and video from Ki To, explores a heartfelt post-breakup narrative while giving us something to dance to.
By Graeme Smith
Ki To’s latest gives us bright and dreamy indie pop that starts bombastically before settling into a cosy first verse. Ki To’s soft vocals tug at the heartstrings, delivering melancholic lyrics full of yearning. All the while, the instrumental stays upbeat, tempering things in a track that has plenty of depth.
An intimate, story-driven video completes the picture with some intricate choreography.
This is the third time that San Francisco, USA’s Ki To has appeared on our pages, following on from his video, Layin, and team up with Delorians, West. The Indonesia-based Delorians also had a hand in Don’t Come Around, providing the production.
The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
