Hull’s cutty get dreamy for new single

The Hull-based duo of singer and artist Amy Precious and multi-instrumentalist and producer Kev La Kat, aka cutty, are quickly becoming favourites of ours. Their latest single shows a different side to their sound. It’s called Hard To Memorise.

By Graeme Smith

Hard To Memorise reveals the dreamy side of the cutty sound. A sultry and moody instrumental holds the attention early on while Amy’s vocals break hearts. There’s a wistfulness to the lyrics which make them feel relatable, rich with poetry and melancholia. As the track progresses, the instrumental builds, providing some catharsis, especially when some hard-hitting percussion comes in.

The track will feature on the band’s upcoming EP, Pump Funk. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
