Sophia DeLeo returns with important new single

Sophia DeLeo grew up down the street from an abortion clinic. At age seven, she first sounded out the words “Abortion Kills Children” on a pro-life protestor’s sign, just a few steps away from her front yard.

It’s on this memory and the wider abortion debate that she ruminates in her new single, Til You Do.

A delicate start beautifully sets up the emotional story of the track. Full of autobiographical detail, it’s a vulnerable tale, striking a relatable chord with its message of compassion and understanding. As the track progresses, the instrumental builds with folksy strings and DeLeo’s vocals get particularly passionate during a memorable chorus.

The track’s point is simple and important. It’s easy to renounce abortion care for others when you don’t require access to the services yourself, and ultimately it pleads for women to have autonomy over their own bodies. Since the reversal of Roe v. Wade in America, it’s a battle that’s starting all over again.

Til You Do is out now and you can give it a listen below.
