Wotts launch new EP with its final, melancholic single

The Ottawa, Canada-based Wotts, made up of producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Jayem and bassist/guitarist Ricky 100, are a perennial feature on this blog, going right back to 2022.

We rarely miss a chance to share more of their unique music.

Their latest single is i’ll see you when the game resets, a track that takes their sound in an unexpectedly melancholic direction.

“This track felt like a real goodbye” explains Jayem, “But one that’s layered with hope that endings aren’t necessarily the end, that somehow, somewhere, sometime, we’ll get to do it all over again.”

A dreaminess permeates its every note, and the vocals are beautifully wistful during an understated first verse. The catharsis comes with the chorus, steeped with the emotions that come with a farewell. It’s there that the instrumental reaches its full, textured wonderment.

I’ll see you when the game resets is the final single release from Wotts’ EP FLANK! which is also out now. You can listen to the track below.
