Discovery: Noise Factory United holds up a mirror ball with some political disco

Hailing from the south coast, Noise Factory United are new to our blog through their post-punk single, Fractures.

By Graeme Smith

Fractures brings together ‘60s psychedelia, ‘70s punk a la The Homosexuals, ‘80s Talking Heads-esque storytelling and ‘00s jangly indie rock. It feels right at place in the modern post-punk era that includes the likes of Sleaford Mods.

Spoken word verses trade blows with sung, electronic-infused chorus in a way that keeps things interesting, and an unexpected foray into disco at the end of the track is the icing on the cake.

Lyrically, it holds up a mirror to modern Capitalism and consumerism, and we see something horribly disfigured.

Fractures will feature on Noise Factory United’s debut EP, Visions, set for release early 2026.
