True pioneers, Broken Spaceship have crash-landed on our radar through their debut EP, A Part With Some Significance.

It still amazes me that acts can come along and show such originality that I simply know I must share their music. Broken Spaceship is such an act. Their EP, A Part With Some Significance, is a dizzying blend of post-punk, hip-hop, electronica and an unhealthy dose of paranoia.
Opening with Dreams we are greeted with intensity. The vocals never let up, sitting somewhere between rap and spoken word. The lyrics are visceral, rich with imagery and conspiracy theory. It’s a breath-taking start and tees up the rest of the EP nicely.
Across three more tracks with get industrial-fused ‘80s electronica (Ghost), cavity-inducing bass (Rotten Teeth), and reluctant brightness (Endless Puzzle.) Despite the blend of genres and the experimentation, the record feels coherent, tied together by its socially-conscious storytelling.
Broken Spaceship are London-based Joserra aka Chamy the Chameleon, a DJ, promoter, tour manager, booking agent, stage manager, and label owner, and Ultra_Eko, an audiovisual, hip-hop artist. A Part With Some Significance is their debut EP, and I certainly hope there will be more to come from them.
The EP is out now, available to buy digitally on Bandcamp. You can listen to it below.
