Discovery: Dutch stalwarts Rejection Ratio are still rocking

Rejection Ratio are a rock and new wave band who pick up where the likes of Blondie, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees left off.

By Graeme Smith

They’re new to our pages thanks to their latest single and video, Love is Like Heaven, a bold, raw track that proves instantly gripping.

A looping, waltzing instrumental sets the early tone before singer Nelly captivates with her understated, characterful vocals. She purrs pleadingly through the verse before ramping things up for a memorable chorus.

Based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Rejection Ratio are Nelly (vocals), Ruud (bass), Pityu (guitar), and Ton (drums). They’ve been going since the ‘80s and have overcome trials and tribulations to still be putting out music today. You can consider me their latest fan.

You can find out more about Rejection Ratio on their website.

Love is Like Heaven is out now, available to watch on YouTube.
