Events held at The Duchess
On Bank Holiday Friday, The Duchess became the home of dance. Brought about by local promoters Common People, some of the greatest DJs spun the decks live on stage, including Graeme Park, Steve Luigi, Mark Holliday, Philip ‘Jaxx’ Jarvis and Dan James. Neon was en vogue at The Duchess on Thursday as four young bands clad in ultra-violet paint entertained a glow-in-the-dark crowd. Indie rock trio The Filthy Piece topped the bill, supported by lively folk duo Lion Papers, the acoustic and melodic Little Resistance and heavy rockers The Black Lagoons. On Wednesday, The Duchess played host to the unique and energetic five-piece, CoCo and the Butterfields. Visiting York from Canterbury, they performed their own unique fusion of Folk, Pop and Hip Hop, or “Fip Fok” to their fans.

On Thursday, local three-piece The Filthy Piece played their first headline show at The Duchess. It’s fair to say they rocked it.
