Flora Greysteel are releasing their highly-anticipated debut EP with a launch party at The Fulford Arms on Sunday 24th April. There will also be support from Chris Mather and band and The Bramble Napskins.
Described as colourful, theatrical and beautifully strange, Flora Greysteel is a two-piece band, who have enjoyed great success over the last year. Performing in front of huge audiences at York’s Little Festival of Live Music, their songs played on numerous radio stations as well as enjoying sell-out shows alongside Vesper Walk, Flora Greysteel are now delighted to announce their EP launch evening which will take place on Sunday 24th April at Fulford Arms.
The duo who brings together the diverse talent that is the vocals, piano and looping skills of Emily Rowan with the eclectic percussive noise-making of Simon Bolley are incredibly excited about the launch of their first EP.
Simon Bolley says: “Emily and I are often asked what genre of music we come under and because we are influenced by so many we can’t actually answer the question. So what I tend to say is that we perform elements of cabaret rip-roaring choruses twinned with choral elegance as well as moments of sea shanties and electronic-pop. During the launch of our EP, there will also be performances from Chris Mather and band and the Bramble Napskins, who are both incredibly talented.”
Their EP has already been endorsed by those who have already had a listen to it, including Festival Organiser Ellen Cole. Ellen says: “I listened to the album last week and I love how hypnotic, surreal and different each song is from one another. Flora Greysteel should be really proud of what they have created and I would urge anyone who hasn’t seen their work to go down to their EP launch evening, I have a feeling it is going to be a memorable night.”
Advance ticket purchases are £4 and £5 if bought on the night. Doors open on the night at 7.30pm with the music starting at 8pm.
