6 Great Music Videos from Yorkshire

This week, BBC Radio 1 has been featuring local boy Alexander James’s single Faith on its playlist. The single’s video was featured on York Calling back in December so it got us reminiscing about the other videos we’ve featured and wondering where are they now?

Jack Conman

We featured an exclusive live stream of the poetic singer/songwriter from Hull’s single Misty Central back in 2015, shortly followed by its video. Jack’s EP Euphoria Spring is available now, and he’s just released a new single called Greatly Hasty.

King No-One

Well known in York and increasingly across the country thanks to their relentless touring, we took a shine to the video for King No-One’s single Constellations. The lads are, unsurprisingly, currently on tour and you can catch them at Fibbers on 15 April.

Kymberley Kennedy

We’ve featured a few videos for York’s Kymberley Kennedy, and are big fans of her collaboration with Mila Feel for DKM. Kymberley recently featured on BBC Introducing Humberside with a live session and an interview so no doubt big things are coming our way in 2017 from her.

A Joker’s Rage

The face-painted five-piece from York created a video for their Yorkshire cover of Tupac’s California Love and we enjoyed watching them do their thing live and spotting other York musicians with their #gameface on. Sadly, front-man Zakk has recently announced a break from the band for health reasons, but we don’t think this will be the last we hear from the irrepressible rockers.

Vuromantics

In January, Yorkshire super group Vuromantics released the video for their single Waiting on a Storm and we liked it so much we wanted to share it. The guys are currently gigging up a storm to promote it and their debut EP, and can be caught in York at The Fulford Arms on 10 March.
