We run down some of the tracks we’ve been listening to recently.
Melissa Miller – Like a Boss
Like a B, Like a O, Like a S, Like a S… Melissa Miller’s new single Like A Boss is instantly infectious and right on the pop pulse. Fans of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry will eat this up, and the cheerleader refrain will bring a smile to anyone’s lips.
MÏRÄNDÄ – Memoria (Live and Acoustic)
This video for Memoria is a beautifully serene living room acoustic session from American singer-songwriter MÏRÄNDÄ. With a voice that is reminiscent of Lana Del Rey an on-screen charm and soulful delivery it’s hard not to fall in love with this singer.
Slow Roar are a fantastically Dead Weather-esque grunge duo from America. Be The Bleed is a head-noddingly march of indie rock. The vocals are elegantly edgy and it doesn’t take long until you are fully seduced.
Chris Watt – Running
Running is a suitably pacy track from American hard rock one-man band Chris Watt. The video leaves you in no doubt Chris’s multi-instrument talents as he switches his way between instruments delivering this engaging head banger. With a brilliant voice to boot, this man’s a star in the making.
Flower Cult – Violet
Violet is a dreamy meadow of a song from Indie Rock duo Flower Cult. Perfect to melt away some winter snow or a bit of commuting stress this track is easy-listening at its best. The vocal harmonies are light as a breeze and the guitar is mere birdsong.
Charlie Puth – If You Leave Me Now feat. Boyz II Men
Charlie Puth’s new track If You Leave Me Now features the vocal harmonies of ’90s R&B sensations Boyz II Men so right from the off you know what to expect. And you are not disappointed as Charlie’s soulful vocals builds nicely on the veteran support in this stripped-back sensation.
Jaguar Purrs – In Your Eyes
In Your Eyes is distorted, rough-around-the-edges indie pop that oozes with charm. American act Jaguar Purrs delivers stripped-down indie dirge as if it’s bleeding from their every pore. Have a listen and get ready to sway!
Dig Exotic – Ghost
With machine-gun distorted guitar and angry passion in the vocals, Dig Exotic have distilled the spirit of punk into their new track Ghost. A perfect interplay of heavy bass, guitar licks, punching percussion and scream-along lyrics provide a punk rock tonic for the winter blues.
