Discovery: Michelle Limanjae

Michelle Limanjae is an alternative rock singer songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. She has just released her second single, hot on the heels of her debut Hey Dear Heidi. Her latest is called Pluviophile Song and I gave it a listen.

If, like me, you didn’t know what a pluviophile is, it’s a lover of rain. Michelle’s dedication has an appropriate mix of offbeat sentiments and upbeat feelings. A bright guitar lick plays over a jumping rhythm. Michelle’s vocals are delicate in the verse but explode into life during a passionate chorus. It’s all wrapped together by a intimate and DIY feel that means you can’t help but fall in love a little bit.

Born in Indonesia, Michelle now lives in Australia where she writes music intended to subvert expectations. I can’t wait to hear more from her. I hope you’ll agree. You can check out Pluviophile Song below.
