Kaleidoscope has a bit of swagger about it. Opening with a slow groove of guitar, bass and percussion, the vocals quickly come in, delivered in a spoken-word, stream-of-consciousness style. It describes a grimy and psychedelic night out, full of imagery that is both relatable and disorientating. A memorable sung verse seals the deal.

Toothbrush describes themselves as “six big kids” but there is wisdom beyond their years in their lyrics. They are definitely one of the freshest and most unique acts I’ve heard on the UK post-punk scene for awhile. I can’t wait to hear more from them.
