Mince are a post-punk band from just down the road in Leeds. Formed in 2021 by school friends Jamie Haddington, Owen Bennett and George McDermott, the three rounded off their current line-up with Clem Pulham Creagh on bass and Matthew Banks on drums. Their latest track is a homage to being care-free. It’s called Misprint.

Los Angeles, USA-based alternative rock group The Loud Bangs first hit my radar back in June when their EP Highway Safety Films left me highly impressed. Their sound combines a love of ’90s shoegaze and German club music to create something that feels wholly unique. A couple of months later, they’re back with another EP release. Voodoo Bloo are an alternative rock four-piece based in Wellington, New Zealand, fronted by Sheffield-born Rory MacDonald. They released their debut album Jacobus back in 2020, and have just followed it up with their second, written during an unexpected low moment following their first album’s completion and release. The Blessed Ghost is twelve tracks that are one part therapy, one part fictionalised love story and one part self-discovery.

Eria HummingBird is an Albi, France based composer and producer who likes to weave a tale about himself as much as within his music. When he pitched his album to me, he claimed that he had once been world famous, working with the biggest names in music, but a virus has wiped his name from existence. An intriguing story, and one that made me want to listen to the album. It’s called Lo-Fi Stop.
