New Music: Paul Moody – Time Bomb

Paul Moody, who also records as Moody Jr, has featured on the blog a few times now. He first hit my radar last autumn through his folksy, autobiographical album Songs of Youth. Now he’s back with another strikingly honest song, this time about the pain that can coincide with love. It’s called Time Bomb.

By Graeme Smith

Time Bomb opens with a lively, intricate acoustic guitar line that feels at once wistful and sad. Paul’s unmistakable vocals come in, soulful, expressive and lovable. He doesn’t hold back with his lyrics, laying it all out there in the first verse which leads beautifully into a catchy chorus and an unexpected accordion solo.

It’s another wonderful track from an artist who draws influences from classic songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Fans of any of those artists will appreciate Time Bomb. You can check it out below.
