Scottish singer songwriter Roma Rose has featured on our blog a few times since I discovered her back in 2020 thanks to her track about new motherhood How To Feel. Now she’s back with a new one rich with nostalgia. It’s called Spires.

Spires is named for the spires of Oxford, a vision which made Roma think of her time studying there. There’s a wistful moodiness about it, perfect for the darker days of autumn. The lyrics speak of lost youth, hedonism and ultimately separation. The first verse builds to a soaring chorus, where Roma’s vocals are full of emotion.

It’s another beautiful track from Roma who proves time and time again what a great song writer she is. Supported by the BBC, Amazing Radio and The Scotsman, Roma is certainly one to watch. You can listen to Spires below.
