Ben Parks is a San Diego, USA-based folk artist who has teamed up with a collective of fellow independent artists to release the first single from their forthcoming album. It explores the emotional landscape of friendships and the concept of longing, and it’s called Skipping Stones.

The track starts delicately with plucked acoustic guitar and Ben’s haunting, isolated vocals. Its stripped-back approach lets the track’s storytelling shine through beautifully, and the emotion is nicely conveyed by Ben.

You’re not likely to hear anything more emotionally-provocative today than Skipping Stones. It’s a wonderfully thought-out and produced piece of modern folk. I can’t wait for the album!
