Lorraine Klaasen and Mongezi Ntaka are a pair of South African musicians who have teamed up to release their takes on some of Southern Africa’s Township music songbook. Entitled Ukubonga, or “gratitude”, it’s the pairs way of giving thanks to some of Southern Africa’s most celebrated singers and composers.

Since I discovered Dorking-based alternative dream pop duo T.I.G.Y. over the summer thanks to their EP Sunny Dog Days, they’ve become something of a favourite of mine. Following the EP were two unique covers – Miike Snow’s Animal and LCD Soundsystem’s Someone Great. Now they’re back with a new one, the sixth release from their debut album.
