Strangely Alright are a Tacoma, USA-based rock outfit who channel ’60s psych influences, bringing them right up to date here in 2022. They’ve just hit my radar thanks to their macabre new track The Grave.
By Graeme Smith
Opening with an echoing, cinematic note, The Grave quickly hits its laidback stride with walking bass and wisps of guitar. The vocals are wonderfully expressive, full of longing and understated charisma. It’s the kind of track that will send a chill running along your spine, in the best of ways.
Fans of the Gothic will get a lot from The Grave, as will those who love retro and modern rock acts like Pink Floyd and Arctic Monkeys. It’s a track that simply demands a listen and you can do so below.
