Brynja is an Icelandic folk and indie artist who has just hit my radar courtesy of her new track, written during the depths of a depression. It’s called My Oh My.

My Oh My is the product of a low point in Brynja’s life. Her relationship ended; she was unemployed, homeless and trapped in the moment, like the rest of us, by COVID. Yet, despite this, it’s not a track that drags you down. Rather, with its bright R&B elements and Brynja’s soft and expressive vocals, it’s quite calming and uplifting. It shows sometimes the only way out is through.
The track will feature on her forthcoming debut album Repeat, set for release next week. You can give My Oh My a listen below.
