Good Childhood are the alternative folk duo of Alice Grey and Ben Schrecker. Previously two solo acts, the pair got together this year, converging on a shared love of storytelling and influences that range from The Cure to The Beautiful South, among others. They’ve just hit my radar through their debut single Violet.

Voilet has a classic song writing feel to it. Nostalgic keys sets the early pace before gentle acoustic guitar and expressive vocals join in. The star of the show is certainly the lyrics though. Dark yet relatable, they paint a rich, character-filled picture.
