E.W. Harris is an alternative folk singer songwriter who has featured on the blog a couple of times before. Last year I discovered his music through the supernatural Bad Ghost. That was then followed up earlier this year with Hammerhands. His latest shows another side to his music. It’s called The Damage.

There’s an immediate and powerful sense of atmosphere in The Damage. I sensed some classic and psychedelic rock influences mingling in with folk and traces of ambient electronica. Harris’s vocals are undeniably beautiful in this one, and the emotion of the lyrics feels very real.
The track is taken from his forthcoming concept album Homunculus IV and is told from the album’s protagonist’s point of view. I can’t wait to hear more of the story and I hope you’ll agree. You can listen to The Damage below.
