Brooklyn, USA-based singer songwriter Shilpa Ananth first came to my attention earlier this month thanks to her experimental track and video The Search. I enjoyed it so much I thought it worth sharing again.

With her sound, Shilpa combines elements of her South Indian heritage with modern electronica. Tying it all together are soul and jazz sensibilities, creating a sound that’s truly unique. Her vocals are wonderfully expressive and her lyrics are rich with imagery. The Search is a song that demands to be listened to over and over again.
