It’s been a while since we last shared some music from British post-punk artist Scott Lavene and that’s mostly because he’s been on the road supporting Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn on his UK and EU tour. It’s high time for some more Scott in our lives. His latest track and video is called Prettiest Peach.
By Graeme Smith
For a song that was inspired by a funeral conversation, Prettiest Peach is a bright number. A vibrant looping bass hook sets the early pace before Scott’s unmistakable vocals purr in. Lyrically, we get the storytelling, poetry, characters and imagery that we come to expect from Scott’s music but honestly I feel he’s really kicked things up a notch with this track.
