Birdeatsbaby are a London and Brighton-based collective of multi-instrumentals who have a penchant for taking on new challenges. Not content with merely performing the music for their new video Illuminate, singer Mishkin and cellist Hana also took to the dancefloor, performing a routine that combines contemporary dance, ballet and demonology.

Illuminate is a track very unlike anything I’ve heard before. There’s an eeriness to its arrangement that combines rock and metal with neoclassical elements. The vocals are captivating, rich with authentic emotion and delivering relatable yet poetic lyrics.

The track is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album HEX, set for release on Dead Round Eyes. You can give the dramatic video a watch below.
