New Music: David Jacobson and the Space Wizards – Internet People

New York, USA rock band David Jacobson and the Space Wizards first hit my radar last month through their quirky and upbeat track Dream Bed. Now they’re back with another track from their newly release album David Jacobson and The Space Wizards II. It’s called Internet People.

By Graeme Smith

The band are influenced by the likes of David Bowie and The Flaming Lips and those influences come through strongly in Internet People. A wonderfully eccentric yet welcoming instrumental arrangement slowly grows, with David’s soulful and unique vocals woven through it, telling their earnest story.

The album explores heartache and self-healing in the modern age, while harkening back to the golden age of rock and pop. On the evidence I’ve heard so far, it’s definitely an album that needs some attention.
