Wednesday’s Child is a London-based psychedelic rock five-piece who first caught my attention at the beginning of last month through their track Theda. The track features on their upcoming EP Seven Sisters, on which each song tells the story of a different woman. Their next story, Ronnie, focuses on Ronnie Spector of The Ronettes.

Ronnie Spector passed away last year, leaving a legacy of making musical history behind, so it’s little surprise that Wednesday’s Child have taken inspiration from her story. Ronnie has a nostalgic feel about it; it could easily have been recorded in the ’60s were it not for its jangly ’00s indie rock style chorus. Wednesday’s Child bring expressive vocals and poetic lyrics to the table in their rumination on what might have been.
After single releases of Paula, Theda and Ronnie, we have four more sisters to hear about – I can’t wait! You can check out Ronnie below.
