Recently I teased the new single release of Detroit, USA-based alternative pop singer songwriter Mirnaz. It’s the third single of hers that I’ve featured on this blog since the end of last year when I discovered her through the acoustic version of her track God Complex. Her latest gives it a dance kick.

This is the official version of God Complex, and gives a fresh, pop twist to its story. There’s a chanting nature to its lyrics, and also a depth. Instrumentally, it mixes modern pop with sensibilities from Mirnaz’s birth nation, Iraq. The result is something that feels quite unlike anything else out there.

I continue to be excited by what Mirnaz is doing with her music. She is definitely one to watch.
