Brooklyn, USA-based rock singer songwriter Nadia Kazmi has featured once before on this blog last year, as part of Jane’s Female Voices round up. Now it’s my turn to run the rule over her music thanks to her latest single Rationing.

For her latest, Nadia took inspiration from the ’00s rock sound, combining heavy guitar with emotional lyrics. Its story is raw, exploring her father’s passing last year, and the psychological toll of keeping it all in. It’s all beautifully articulated through its tense guitars and Nadia’s expressive, soulful vocals.
Nadia is an artist who is inspired by game-changers like Kate Bush, David Bowie and St. Vincent. Her authentic sound makes her an exciting prospect on the underground scene. Her new album Manufactured Dream is set for release this year. You can listen to Rationing below.
