Llo llo are a Chicago, USA-based power pop band who have been going since 2021, yet they’ve only just hit my radar thanks to their latest single release, Rory.
By Graeme Smith
Llo llo are Grant Goode on bass, Dominic Folino on drums, and Johnny Cummings and Shane Morris on guitar and vocals. Dominic and Johnny are high school friends but the pandemic forced them to give up their band. From its ashes, they formed llo llo with Grant and Shane, who’d lost their previous band for the same reason.
The group take influences from the likes of The Police, Oasis and The Replacements and those are on display in Rory. A lively drum beat sets the early pace before jangly guitars and melancholic vocals come in. Rory is a wonderful mix of classic and modern indie rock, combining Brit-rock sensibilities with US DIY.
I’m really excited about llo llo and I think you will be too. You can check out Rory below.
