Affentanz are a Cologne, Germany-based electronic dance group who has just caught my attention thanks to their new track full of ’80s sensibilities. It’s called Cage.

Cage opens broadly with electronic drum and synth, quickly hitting an explosive stride. The instrumentals textures and wonderfully engaging while understated yet emotional vocals add something a little more organic to the mix. The lyrics are full of frustration and some cryptic storytelling.

Affentanz are making a splash in Germany, hitting number four in the Deutsche Alternative Charts with their previous single Hunter. Cage could well push them that one step further in terms of success. You can give it a listen below.
