Jen Lush is an Eden Hills, Australia-based artist who has just come to my attention thanks to her dreamy folk-pop new track that explores loss and hope. It’s called Icon – song 1.
By Graeme Smith
The words for Icon – song 1 were written by Australian poet Maria Zajkowski, and explore the theme of memory, and how they can be a contradictory mix of loss and hope. The emotion of the words are brought beautifully to life through a gentle, bittersweet acoustic folk-pop arrangement and Jen’s expressive vocals.
The track is taken from Jen and Maria’s album Hum Of The Mettle, set for release on Friday. The pair work well together and I’m looking forward to hear some more of the their collaborations. You can listen to Icon – song 1 below.
