You might not have heard Jessica Hoover’s name before as she’s spent the last decade in the industry ghost-writing for other artists. She’s now making the transition producer and artist in her own right and her latest track explores the emotions of her former job. It’s called the ghost.

The ghost was prompted by the Grammy awards and Jessica vividly paints the emotional journey she went on, pondering how something so personal to her can be judged. Its raw honesty is breath-taking, as are her beautiful, powerful vocals, accompanied plainly by piano.

Formally educated at Berklee College of Music, Harvard and Crē•8 Music Academy, Jessica now spends her time between Los Angeles and Michigan, USA. It’s great that she’s now stepping out the shadows to show us her work under her own name. The ghost is a wonderful introduction to what’s she’s capable of. You can check it out below.
