Alexa Perez is an Alabama, USA-based indie pop artist who has just caught my attention with her fourth single release. One for all the romantics out there, it’s called Rocketship.

Alexa’s new track is a suitably cosmic one. Rich electronica sets the early pace, paired with more organic guitar chords and her warm and compelling vocals. The lyrics are perfect pop storytelling, painting a picture of indefatigable love, especially during a soaring, heart-rendering chorus and a stratospheric bridge.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, Alexa has released three previous single to some success. Rocketship shows she’s still got plenty more in her cargo hold. The track was written by Alexa in upstate New York with Glassnote Studio while on an artist retreat. It was produced by Ian Holmes and Dom Feil-Roots from Soho Sonic Studios, London.
