Moon Worm, real name Jack Schaeffer, is a rock artist from North Dakota, USA. He’s just hit my radar thanks to his reflective new track that explores the desire to see the world and the accompanying fear of leaving something behind. It’s called 9 / 10.
By Graeme Smith
Jack released his debut LP Odyssey in 2020, inspired by the likes of Tame Impala, Beach House, M83 and Mac Demarco. Since then, he’s taken those inspirations and made them his own. 9 / 10 is a beautifully textured and cosmic track that marries classic psychedelia with modern indie rock. Jack’s soulful vocals are the highlight providing a soothing balm over the sometimes jagged rock instrumentals.
I’m really digging the Moon Worm sound and I can’t wait to see where Jack takes it. I hope you’ll be just as excited as I am. You can check out 9 / 10 below.
