Based in Nashville, USA, Carolyn Marie is a country artist who has just come to my attention thanks to her latest single. Delving into the depths of heartbreak, it’s called Casualty.

Love does not always have a happy ending and that’s what Carolyn dwells on in her new single. Inspired by the “Kennedy curse”, describing the grisly end of President Kennedy and some of his family members, Casualty is a narrative-rich track with a lesson about setting boundaries. Its story unfolds against a backdrop of emotional country rock and through Carolyn’s captivating vocals. A soaring, memorable chorus is the highlight.
Though new to us, Carolyn has a devoted fanbase and has performed alongside the likes of Boy George & Culture Club, and The Thompson Twins.
Casualty was written by Carolyn Marie and Chris Cron. It was produced by John Kennedy. You can give it a listen below.
