Soda Cracker Jesus is a solo side project from the man behind Strangely Alright that takes its cues from the likes of The Velvet Underground, David Bowie and John Lennon. He’s just come to my attention thanks to his track and lyric video that stews in the confusion and patterns of our life decisions. It’s called Might Need A Gun.

A track that opens with a punchy guitar riff, you know straight away that you’re going to be in for something a little lively from Might Need A Gun. Stripped-back but relentless percussion comes in, then expressive vocals, before finally some unexpected electronic overtones. It’s definitely rock, but there’s something a little unconventional about it that really catches the ear, and the poetic lyrics seal the deal.
