American actor and songwriter Taydem Shoesmith is starting to become a regular feature on this blog. We’ve shared two of her tracks over the last twelve months. Most recently it was her anti-superficiality anthem This, That. Her latest is a celebration of the season, and goes deep with its lyrics. It’s called So Mrs. Claus.

So Mrs. Claus explores the feeling of missing loved ones during the holiday season. It delivers its story through a slow-burning arrangement that opens, of course, with sleigh bells. From there it eschews traditions with a ponderous, cinematic arrangement focused on Taydem’s soulful vocals. A gifted songwriter, it’s a track that effortlessly draws you in before arriving at its highly-charged crescendo.
