Video: SWIIMS – Fade Days

Toronto, Canada-based indie rock outfit SWIIMS has featured on this blog a couple of times now, having caught our attention at the end of last year. Their latest track comes complete with a video and tells a story of love and loss. It’s called Fade Days.

By Graeme Smith

Opening with layers of echoing guitar by Colin Thompson, Fade Days is a track that instantly builds atmosphere before the soothing, melancholic vocals of Mai Diaz Langou come in. Bringing together shoegaze with ’80s new wave and ’90s Britpop, it’s a track that’s likely to find fans in those who follow all those genres. It simply stands sublime, bringing together all we love about indie rock.

Fade Days features on SWIIMS’ latest album Into The Blue Night, produced and engineered by Josh Korody, and mastered by Noah Mintz. You can check out its video, shot by bassist and vocalist Cian O’Ruanaidh, below.
