Birmingham-based rock five-piece ALICE LILY first hit our radar in May last year when I ran the rule over their attitude-laden track Echoes. The track introduced a new sound for the band that’s cemented by their latest. An indie rock anthem, it’s called Caroline.
By Graeme Smith
Starting with some machine gun riffs, Caroline is a track that sets its stall out early. They give way to a bouncing rhythm and storytelling lyrics, delivered by charismatic vocals. It’s certainly one for shaking off the winter blues while staying bittersweetly grounded. It’s no exaggeration to say it could become known as a classic.
There’s plenty more to come from ALICE LILY this year. If you’re a fan of Catfish & The Bottlemen or Two Door Cinema Club, definitely get them on your playlist.
