London-based singer songwriter Prince of Sweden has been appearing on this blog since 2021, always mesmerising us with his poetic lyrics and immersive style. He’s just released the first single from his upcoming album Beneath the Big Top and it’s called The Electric Blue.

For his latest work, Prince of Sweden has been drawing on influences such as Nick Cave, Dirty Three and Gustavo Santaolalla. The result is an atmospheric and storytelling indie rock wonder that will transport you to a place that feels both familiar and timeless. A minimal opening gives way to a plodding verse where powerful, drawling vocals tell their tale. It’s yet more evidence of just what a cut above Prince of Sweden is when it comes to songwriting.
