London-based alternative rock band The Bigger Picture first featured on this blog at the beginning of 2022 but we’ve not had the chance to share any of their music since then. That’s all about to change thanks to the release of their latest single. Self-described as a “hymn to reconstruction”, it’s called Break Away.

The Bigger Picture is the brainchild of Massimiliano Porcelli who takes on lead vocals and guitar. Alongside him are Paolo Tognoloni on lead guitar, Stina Hellberg on vocal, Elvis Quagliotto on drums and Daniel Malek on bass. They create a big sound befitting of a five-piece, bringing together rock and electronica seamlessly.
Break Away speaks of finding courage in the face of darkness and musically it blends light and shadow beautifully. Layered vocals instil a feeling of hope in the first verse before the chorus leaves it all out there with an explosion of sound. A particular highlight is the twin vocals of Massimiliano and Stina; together they are sublime.
The band are promising plenty more to come for 2024 so I suspect we’ll be posting about them again very soon. In the meantime, you can check out Break Away below.
