LB Beistad is an artist based in Nashville, USA who has just come to my attention through the release of her latest single. A raw exploration of religious trauma, it’s called Dogma.

An alternative pop track, Dogma combines dreamy electronic layers with powerfully understated vocals. Its lyrics hit hard right through its introspective first verse to its explosive, cathartic chorus. The emotion comes at you in waves, at moments being bright and bittersweet, while at others disappearing down a morose pit. It’s a real rollercoaster, and quite unlike much I’ve heard before.

LB Beistad has, quite rightly, been labelled a “rising star.” With a sound like her’s, and an ability to make a statement with her music, she’s going to go far.
