American indie pop singer songwriter Shane Rennison featured on this blog a couple of times last year through his two EP releases, Nice To Meet You and Live at the Outlier Inn.

Now he’s back with a new single taken from his upcoming album IRRATIONAL. What You Need To Know speaks of an encounter with someone who is completely self-absorbed and telling them that they are as an act of kindness. There is, of course, some catharsis in it too, especially if you’ve been in the same situation, and Shane delivers it all with charisma and some unconventional indie pop that’s rich with emotion.

IRRATIONAL is set for release on 28 June. What You Need To Know was written on acoustic guitar by Shane and produced by Julian Giaimo. You can give the single a listen below.
