Sonya Glass is an American pop artist who has just caught my attention through her latest single release. A tale of self-empowerment, told to a former lover, it’s called My Revenge.
By Graeme Smith
Toxic relationships often form when one person cares for the other more and that was the experience Sonya had with her ex. During the break up, she found herself not wanting to hurt them, but soon found out that wasn’t healthy. My Revenge explores her feelings at the time and looking back through a unique approach to pop. The instrumental is wonderfully rich and textured while Sonya’s characterful vocals tell her story.
My Revenge was written by Sonya Elisabeth Glaessner and Shell Enns, the latter also producing, mixing and mastering. It was recorded by Shell Enns and Garrison Cooley at Crown Studios, Jackson, Mississippi. You can give it a listen below.
