New York City, USA-based alternative pop singer, songwriter and producer Magz has been featuring on this blog since last summer and I’m quite taken with her subversive approach to the genre.

Her new track shares with us a tale of revenge, embedding us very much on the villain’s side of the story. It’s the kind of twisted storytelling we’ve come to expect from her, and the composition treats us to some intimate and varied dark pop all amplified beautifully by her powerfully emotive vocals.

After the critical acclaim of her 2023 EP Night Sweats, and on the evidence of Disappoint Me, I think we can expect big things from Magz this year.
