Regular readers, especially local ones, will be well-acquainted with the name Rachel Croft. Though she’s now moved to London, Rachel is something a York legend, and we’ve been closely following her career since 2018.

Today marks the release of her latest track and video, Pacify Me. Written from Rachel’s experience of being a female artist, she turns the idea of expecting to be passive and people-pleasing on its head, delivering some fierce, defiant and bluesy rock. As ever, her expressive voice is the star of the show and the sense of catharsis in the track’s big moments is palpable.
The video, directed by Suzi Kiss, features a cast of Camden-based female indie artists, and we get an intimate insight into their world. You can check it out below.
Pacify Me was co-written by Rachel with Tim Gerard and Matthew Austin. It’s available to for sale and streaming in all the usual places.
