Helsinki, Finland-based group Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps have appeared on this blog a couple of times before, coming to our attention when Jane included their track By 2022 in her roundup of Nordic artists and followed that up with an interview.

Now it’s my turn to run the rule over some of their music thanks to their latest single, Wrecking Ball. It sees them team up with Lauri “Lappe” Holopainen and Nicklas Nyman from the band Carmen Gray, and the pair undoubtedly bring some of their own style to proceedings.

Wrecking Ball is a pacy and lively classic rock number that will grab your attention right from the off. Big riffs are the order of the day, accompanying charismatic vocals that sing of heartbreak and betrayal. There are all the elements there for a timeless pop rock song and that’s exactly what we get.

Featuring on the track are Nicklas Nyman on lead vocals, Lauri Holopainen on lead guitar, Tom Tikka on guitars, bass and backing vocals, and Janne Saksa on drums and production. It was written by Tom Tikka.
