Featuring the vocals of Sabina Zweiacker, Las Palmas is the opening track of Sweden-based indie folk band AstroMike Gordon‘s new EP A Light Delight.
By Graeme Smith
AstroMike Gordon’s frontman Cristoffer Csanady started penning A Light Delight is the dead of the Swedish winter, yearning for the Spring. It’s the split between his winter self and summer self that forms the basis of the EP.
Las Palmas certainly feels like it belongs to the latter. It’s a slow-building track with a sense of airiness about it. Gentle plucked strings and plodding percussion set the early tone before Cristoffer’s unmistakable vocals come in. Things arrive at a rich and atmospheric chorus that will have you by the heart.
A Light Delight was recorded and mixed by Tomas Borgström at Tambourine Studios in Malmö, Sweden. The EP is out now and you can check out Las Palmas below.
